Equality and inclusivity is a topic that is close to our studio's heart, and not just in the context of our projects. That's why we immediately and enthusiastically agreed to participate in the city of Mannheim's equality action plan when we were asked by the city's charter advisory board \"for equality between women and men at local level\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By signing the \"European Charter for Equality between Women and Men at Local Level\" (EU Charter), the City of Mannheim has made a commitment to actively utilise its various roles and responsibilities to work towards equality between women and men both within the administration and in society as a whole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The City of Mannheim's equality action plan focuses on \"employment and equality\", an area in which women are still disadvantaged in many respects. The city has identified a total of eight fields of action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, Jennifer Moss from our Mannheim office was able to discuss ideas and develop projects together with a large number of different experts in the field of action \"Promoting women's digital skills for Work 4.0\". The work of the experts in our field of action resulted in three projects:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital heroes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

for girls and young women before choosing a career<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The project aims to increase the proportion of girls and young women who are interested in careers in the IT sector by introducing them to female speakers and role models who are very familiar with various aspects of the digital sector and pass on their enthusiasm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is TECH?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

for female young professionals, students and academics<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Practical events are intended to provide an insight into technological professions in order to offer an easy and inspiring introduction to the use of new technologies through practical input and joint dialogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wikigirls<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

for girls aged 15 and over and young women in the career search phase with little or no experience and digital skills<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The aim of the project is to increase the visibility of women on Wikipedia. This kills two birds with one stone when the participants develop concepts, research and write Wikipedia entries on the role of various women in overall social processes and learn how to use wiki systems at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Equality Action Plan has now been adopted by Mannheim City Council on 5 October 2021, marking an important step towards implementing the European Charter for Equality between Women and Men at municipal and regional level in Mannheim. We are proud to have played a part in this and look forward to implementing the projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Die Stadt Mannheim ist mit der Unterzeichnung der \u201eEurop\u00e4ischen Charta zur Gleichstellung von Frauen und M\u00e4nnern auf lokaler Ebene\u201c (EU-Charta) die Verpflichtung eingegangen, ihre unterschiedlichen Rollen und Zust\u00e4ndigkeiten aktiv zu nutzen, um gezielt auf die Gleichberechtigung von Frauen und M\u00e4nnern verwaltungsintern sowie gesamtgesellschaftlich hinzuwirken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Schwerpunkt des Gleichstellungsaktionsplan der Stadt Mannheim ist \u201cErwerbst\u00e4tigkeit und Gleichstellung\u201d, ein Bereich, in dem Frauen in vielfacher Hinsicht noch immer benachteiligt sind. Die Stadt identifiziert dazu insgesamt acht Handlungsfelder.

Jennifer Moss aus unserem Mannheimer B\u00fcro durfte im vergangen Jahr zusammen mit einer Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Expert*innen im Handlungsfeld \u201eF\u00f6rderung der digitalen Skills der Frauen f\u00fcr das Arbeiten 4.0\u201c diskutiert, Ideen besprechen und Projekte entwickeln. Das Ergebnis der Arbeit der Expert*innen in unserem Handlungsfeld waren drei Projekte:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digitale HeldInnen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

f\u00fcr M\u00e4dchen und junge Frauen vor der Berufswahl<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Das Projekt zielt darauf ab den Anteil von M\u00e4dchen und jungen Frauen, die sich f\u00fcr Berufe im IT Bereich interessieren zu erh\u00f6hen, indem sie Referentinnen und Role Models kennenlernen, die sich mit unterschiedlichen Aspekten im digitalen Bereich sehr gut auskennen und ihre Begeisterung weitergeben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was ist TECH?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

f\u00fcr weibliche Young Professionals, Studentinnen und Akademikerinnen<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In praxisnahen Veranstaltungen soll ein Einblick in technologische Berufe erm\u00f6glicht werden, um einen einfachen und inspirierenden Einstieg in den Umgang mit neuen Technologien durch praktischen Input und gemeinsamen Austausch zu bieten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wikigirls<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

f\u00fcr M\u00e4dchen ab 15 Jahren und junge Frauen in der Berufsfindungsphase ohne oder mit wenig Erfahrungen und digitalen Kompetenzen<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Ziel des Projekts ist es, die Sichtbarkeit von Frauen auf Wikipedia zu erh\u00f6hen. Dabei werden zwei Fliegen mit einer Klappe geschlagen, wenn die Teilnehmer*nnen durch Konzeptentwicklung, Recherche und Schreiben von Wikipedia Eintr\u00e4gen zur Rolle verschiedener Frauen in gesamtgesellschaftlichen Prozessen verfassen und damit gleich den Umgang mit Wiki Systemen erlernen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Der Gleichstellungsaktionsplan wurde nun am 05. Oktober 2021 vom Gemeinderat in Mannheim verabschiedet, womit ein wichtiger Schritt zur Umsetzung der Europ\u00e4ischen Charta f\u00fcr die Gleichstellung von Frauen und M\u00e4nnern auf kommunaler und regionaler Ebene in Mannheim erfolgt ist. Wir sind stolz darauf, dass wir daran mitwirken durften und freuen uns auf die Umsetzung der Projekte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
