In September this year, the renowned taz publishing house carried out a relaunch that marked the start of a new chapter for taz, as the publisher replaced the printed newspaper with a purely digital one during the week. The aim was therefore to focus on improving the user experience of taz's digital products so that the future of the publishing house remains secure. This process focussed on two areas: The further development of the taz App (case study) and the further development of the taz online (the taz publishing pages) and has been supported by us in close co-operation with the creative minds and employees of the taz over the last three years.
UX support for the taz
In an intensive research and workshop phase, we helped the publishing house to concretise, define and sharpen its vision and goals for the new publishing division. This enabled the team to lay the foundations for a forward-looking direction. Following this phase, we had the opportunity to further refine this vision through interaction design and information architecture. All of this contributed to the development of a user-friendly and well thought-out system that is tailored to the needs of the readers.
We also supported the development of taz's new design system, which helped to create an aesthetically pleasing yet functional interface that represents the company's brand identity in an innovative way.
The relaunch of the taz publishing pages marks an important milestone in the history of the publishing house and reflects the continuous adaptation to the changing requirements of the media landscape. It was a pleasure for us to be able to contribute to the successful realisation of this transformation in order to help secure the future of taz.
We are eagerly awaiting readers' reactions to this new development and look forward to the exciting content that will be presented in this new era.
